Maxwell Keto is a weight loss supplement for followers of the low-carb ketogenic diet. It contains ingredients designed to make many aspects of the keto diet more effective, not to mention more comfortable. Made by American nutrition company Maxwell X-Factor, this supplement is supplied in bottles of 60 capsules, which is a one-month supply.

While Maxwell Keto is a weight loss supplement, the ingredients will only work if you are on a low-carb diet. If you aren’t doing keto, this product won’t have much of an effect.

What are the Ingredients?

Maxwell Keto’s ingredients list is very short. In fact, it only contains one active ingredient – beta-hydroxybutyrate, or BHB for short. BHB is a source of ketones and is chemically similar to the ketones produced by your body during the low carb ketogenic diet. Your body recognizes BHB ketones as its own and uses them as it would those that it makes itself.

Maxwell Keto contains three slightly different types of BHB:

  • Magnesium beta-hydroxybutyrate
  • Calcium beta-hydroxybutyrate
  • Sodium beta-hydroxybutyrate

While almost identical, each ketone variant works at a slightly different speed, which means Maxwell Keto has short, medium, and long-term effects. Because of this, you only need to take this supplement every 24 hours to enjoy its benefits.

In addition to the BHB ketones, Maxwell Keto also contains some inert or inactive ingredients. These substances are important but don’t actually affect weight loss. Gelatin, which is made from animal hides and bones, is a form of protein and is the material used to make the capsules. Because it comes from animals, its presence means Maxwell Keto is not suitable for vegans.

Magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, and rice flour are moisture absorbers and anti-caking agents. They stop the BHB ketones turning into a solid, indigestible mass.

How to use it Correctly

To get the most from Maxwell Keto, or any other nutritional supplement, it’s important to use it correctly. To do this, simply take two capsules per day with water. It really doesn’t matter too much when you take Maxwell keto, but you’ll probably get better results if you take it at the same time each day.

Alternatively, you may find it useful to take your capsules at the following times:

  • First thing in the morning to increase energy for the coming day
  • Midmorning or midafternoon to boost your energy and ward off hunger
  • Before exercise to increase performance
  • At night to curb nighttime cravings

Benefits of Maxwell Keto

Keto is one of the best weight-loss diets around. However, using exogenous (external) ketone supplements like Maxwell keto can help make it even better. The benefits of Maxwell Keto include:

Get into ketosis faster – getting into ketosis can take a few days and up to two weeks. It takes this long for your body to use up its onboard supply of carbohydrates and glucose. The sooner you can get into ketosis, the sooner you’ll start enjoying all the benefits of low-carb dieting. Taking Maxwell Keto tricks your body into producing ketones faster than it otherwise would.

Shorter keto flu – keto flu is the term used to describe the symptoms that a lot of low carb dieters experience during the first few days of keto. While it’s not a serious condition, it can be uncomfortable enough to put some dieters off keto for good.

The symptoms of keto flu include:

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Constipation or diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Mood swings
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle cramps
  • Dizziness
  • Poor concentration and brain fog
  • Muscle soreness
  • Insomnia
  • Sugar cravings and hunger

While these symptoms are unpleasant, they are usually mild. The exogenous ketones in Maxwell Keto can help make keto flu shorter and less impactful.

More energy – your body uses ketones for energy in lieu of carbs. More ketones mean more energy, both physically and mentally. Ketones do not have a stimulatory effect, so they won’t keep you awake or make you feel anxious or jittery like caffeine can. That means you can use Maxwell Ketones at night without disrupting your sleep.

Less hunger and fewer cravings – hunger and cravings can derail even the best weight loss diet. After all, diets only work while you stick to them! Exogenous ketones can help reduce appetite and prevent cravings, making it much easier to maintain your diet. With fewer unplanned breaks, your diet should produce much better results.

Increased fat burning – your body makes ketones out of fat. Taking exogenous ketones fools your body into producing even more ketones, which means more fat is used. This will significantly increase weight loss.

Better brain function – your brain runs really well on ketones. They can cross the blood-brain barrier where your brain can use them to improve all aspects of cognition. Ketones won’t make you smarter, but they will ensure you can use your brain to the best of its ability.

Side Effects

The BHB ketones in Maxwell Keto are entirely natural and, as such, should have very few side effects. Some individuals may find that they experience keto flu-like symptoms when they start using this product, but any issues should soon vanish as your body gets used to running on ketones.

If you do experience any unwanted side effects, reduce your dose to just one capsule per day and, when you start taking two capsules per day, take one in the morning and one in the evening. Finally, make sure you do not take more than the recommended two capsules per day.

Bottom Line

The ketogenic diet is a great way to lose weight, and it’s also good for your health. But, on the downside, going keto can trigger a host of unwanted side effects, at least until you finally enter ketosis. The good news is that exogenous ketone supplements like Maxwell Keto can help make keto easier to live with, not to mention more effective.

Ketones are the lifeblood of the ketogenic diet, and providing your body with more of this remarkable substance will have a big impact on your rate of weight loss. Your keto flu symptoms will be less severe, and won’t last as long either.

Whether you are new to low carb dieting and are worried about the dreaded keto flu, or an experienced keto dieter just looking for a helping hand, Maxwell Keto can help. Just two capsules per day is all you need to make your low-carb diet even more rewarding.

With all that being said the reviews show that a lot of people are not completely satisfied with this product. As such we recommend the more popular and arguably better product Keto BodyTone.

If you are looking for that boost to getting to ketosis faster and smoother we highly recommend checking out our review of Keto BodyTone.
