In recent years, the ketogenic diet has become one of the most popular diets in America. You know the diet. It’s the one where you eliminate all carbs from your diet and eat mostly fat.
Yeah, that one.
So why would anyone do this?
The idea behind the ketogenic diet is that by eliminating carbs and forcing your body to rely on fat for energy, you’re putting your body into a state called “ketosis”. In ketosis, your body stops burning glucose for energy, and instead relies on amino acids called “ketones”. Since your liver can break down fat into ketones, a person in ketosis has an easier time burning body fat.
What does this have to do with supplements?
As anyone who’s struggled to lose weight knows, different people have different metabolisms. Some people can go into ketosis effortlessly, and will stay in that state even if they indulge in the occasional cheat day.
On the other hand, other people can struggle to get into ketosis. Worse yet, the smallest quantity of carbs can throw them back into a normal, glucose-based metabolism, forcing them to go through the trouble of getting back into ketosis again.

BHB is the most common ketone in the body. That’s not to say it’s the only ketone. There are two others.
The first is acetone. If that sounds bad to you, it is, in significant quantities. Fortunately, your liver produces only trace amounts of acetone. In fact, these amounts are so small that you can expel it through your lungs when you exhale. This is one reason people on the ketogenic acid sometimes complain of bad breath.
The second ketone is acetoacetate. Unlike acetone, acetoacetate is perfectly healthy. However, taking an acetoacetate supplement would be inefficient, since your body can’t make use of it directly. Your liver needs to break it down into BHB first for your cells to use it for fuel.
BHB is the third type of ketone your body produces, and it’s the main ingredient in KetoForce. This is your body’s main fuel source when you’re in a state of ketosis.
Sodium and Potassium
If you read the ingredients for KetoForce, you’ll notice that there’s a lot of sodium and potassium; 67 percent of your daily value of sodium, and 46 percent of your daily value of potassium. Why are these amounts so high?
The reason for all of these salts is that BHB on its own doesn’t absorb easily through your stomach. Unless you put pure BHB in an IV drip, there’s not a good way for your body to absorb it.
However, when BHB bonds with sodium, potassium, or magnesium, it forms a complex salt that’s easily absorbed by your small intestine. Once it’s in your blood stream, the salt separates from the BHB, and you’re left with pure ketones going straight to whatever cells need them.
Citric acid may look confusing at first. We know it’s all-natural, but what on earth is it doing in a diet supplement?
Citric acid encourages urination. Considering how much salt will end up in your bloodstream from this supplement, you’re going to need to pee a lot to keep your electrolyte levels in balance. Citric acid encourages this.
It also has another benefit. Ketones are highly alkaline, which can throw your blood pH out of balance. By adding citric acid, KetoForce helps negate this effect.
Sodium hydroxide is a strong acid that’s only included in small amounts. Much like citric acid, it helps balance out your blood pH from the alkalinity of BHB.
Water is simply a medium to dissolve all the other ingredients. It’s how KetoForce manages to be a liquid instead of a pill.
What’s Not in it?
One nice thing about KetoForce is that it doesn’t contain any artificial ingredients. We’ve reviewed some exogenous ketone pills that claim to be all-natural, but they invariably have a bunch of fillers and anti-clumping agents that are most definitely artificial. Unlike those pills, KetoForce is 100 percent natural.
Helping You Get Into Ketosis
When you’re going into ketosis, it’s not a smooth, simple process. In a “normal”, carb-based metabolism, your liver doesn’t break down fat into ketones. To do this, it needs to produce different enzymes. Boosting production of these enzymes takes time without carbs. This takes from three days up to about a week.
While that’s happening, you’re essentially starving, which leads to a condition called “keto flu”. Without glucose or ketones, you’ll have low energy and headaches. It’s just that exogenous ketones won’t help you lose weight if you’re still eating carbs. You won’t be in ketosis, not because the supplement isn’t working, but because your liver doesn’t see a reason to start burning fat when there’s plenty of easy-to-use glucose flowing through your veins.
We should give KetoForce some props here. A lot of keto supplement companies make wild claims about their product burning fat, making your brain sharper, and so on. Those claims might not be outright lies, but they certainly leave out a lot of the truth.
KetoForce’s advertising is straightforward, and just tells you what their product is. The rest is up to you.
Potential KetoForce Side Effects
Like any supplement, KetoForce can have some negative effects if you take more than the recommended amount. In this case, those include nausea and diarrhea. These are symptoms both of having too many ketones in your blood and of having more than your body is used to.
For this reason, you might get nausea or diarrhea the first time you take it. If symptoms persist, try cutting back to a half dose, then slowly working your way up as your body gets used to exogenous ketones.
Another common side effect is bad breath. This isn’t caused by KetoForce, per se. It happens to a lot of people when they’re in a state of ketosis. So keep some breath mints handy.
As we’ve discussed ad nauseum, it’s necessary to be on the ketogenic diet if you want KetoForce to do any good. Since a lot of people take KetoForce to help alleviate the symptoms of keto flu, we thought this would be a good place to mention some of those symptoms and how to treat them.
Electrolyte Shortage and Dehydration
The keto diet causes you to shed electrolytes, which means you’re going to pee a lot over the first few days. Now, KetoForce is jam packed with electrolytes, so you shouldn’t need to worry about a shortage as long as you’re taking the recommended dose.
However, you may be dehydrated. This can lead to mental fog and headaches, two of the main symptoms of keto flu. Make sure to drink plenty of water, particularly during the first week of your diet. Not only will this relieve dehydration symptoms, it’s just a healthy thing to do in general.
Unless you enjoy drinking your coffee black, you’ve probably had to give it up in order to go on the ketogenic diet. This can make keto flu worse, since caffeine is addictive. If you’re a daily coffee drinker and quit cold turkey, withdrawal symptoms can include exhaustion, headaches, and mental fog. Since these are the main symptoms of keto flu, you’re suffering from a double whammy.
Thankfully, there’s absolutely no reason to quit drinking coffee on the ketogenic diet.
To start with, bulletproof coffee is a popular way to boost your fat intake first thing in the morning, and it’s 100 percent carb-free. Mix 16 ounces of coffee with 2 tablespoons each of butter, heavy cream, and MCT or coconut oil.
Mix all of these in a blender, and you’re good to go! And don’t bother with any of those expensive “bulletproof coffee” beans on the market. They’re just expensive organic coffee. Cheap, tinned coffee can get you the same result with the same recipe.
If you absolutely need to have a sweetener in your morning Joe, try a keto friendly sweetener like Swerve. Avoid mainstream sugar-free sweeteners like Equal and Sweet n Low. These will still raise your glycemic index, since your body thinks that they’re sugar.
Not Eating Enough
If you’re going on the ketogenic diet to lose weight, it can be tempting to start cutting calories from day one. On a base level, this makes a lot of sense. The fewer calories you take in, the faster you’ll lose weight, right?
This is true. And if you’re trying to lose weight, you’ll definitely want to lower your calorie intake over the long run. However, your body is under a lot of stress while you’re adjusting to ketosis. Cutting calories only adds to that stress. This leads to – are you ready? – exhaustion and mental fog.
The best thing to do is to eat until you’re full, at least for the first few weeks. Once your body has fully acclimated to your new diet, you can start lowering your calorie intake without any negative consequences.

For the rest of us, exogenous ketones are a helpful aid. However, they aren’t going to do all of the heavy lifting for you. You’ll still need to cut carbs from your diet. If you eat pasta and pizza, drink beer, and follow it up with ice cream, you’re just wasting your money on KetoForce – or any ketogenic supplement.
Even if you have an easy time getting into ketosis, it can be worth picking up a bottle of KetoForce before starting a new ketogenic cycle. There’s no reason to suffer through keto flu on your own, and KetoForce can be hugely helpful getting yourself through the worst of it.
