Sweet and savory pies are one of life’s pleasures. Unfortunately, they’re also a no-go on keto. Pies are made with varying amounts of pastry, and one of the main ingredients in pastry is wheat flour. Wheat flour is very high in carbs.
Before you give up on the idea of eating pies ever again or quit keto for good, you’ll probably be very relieved to hear that it is possible to make a keto-friendly pie that won’t derail your fat loss diet.
Don’t feel deprived on keto; add this comfort food favorite to your low-carb ketogenic diet.

For The Topping
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit/175 degrees centigrade.

- Meanwhile, put the pastry ingredients in a food processor and combine. Alternatively, you can mix by hand.

Bottom Line
This pie might be somewhat unconventional, but it’s still delicious. Easy (if a little time-consuming) to make, it’s 100% keto-friendly and, unlike most pies, could actually help you lose weight.
Not a fan of ground beef? No problem! You can shake up this recipe by using ground pork, turkey or lamb. You could also pack it with roast veggies to make a vegetable pie.
Once you’ve made it, serve with mashed cauliflower for a keto pie and mash dinner, or allow it to cool and enjoy it cold with a salad or on its own for a substantial snack.
However you serve this pie, you’re going to love it!
