Guacamole is a traditional Mexican dip made mainly from Avocados. You can buy readymade guacamole, but invariably it contains sugar and other artificial ingredients. That’s a shame because guacamole is high in fat and fiber, which makes it very keto-friendly.

The good news is that making your own guacamole is a quick and easy process, and homemade guac is much tastier and healthier than store-bought stuff.

Whip up a batch of this keto guacamole and enjoy it with veggies, pork rinds, low-carb corn chips, or just straight from the jar by the spoonful. It’s delicious and perfect for the low-carb ketogenic diet.

Keto Guacamole

Ingredients For Ten Servings

  • 4 large avocados
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 Roma tomato
  • ½ red onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ jalapeno pepper
  • ¼ cup cilantro
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half and remove the stone. Using a spoon, scoop out the flesh and put it in a mixing bowl. Mash with a fork until smooth. Add the sour cream and stir.
  2. Finely chop the onion and tomato, garlic, jalapeno, and cilantro. Add to the avocado and combine well.
  3. Add the lime juice, cumin, and a little salt. Stir again and then taste. Add more salt, jalapeno, cumin, or lime juice as required.
  4. Serve immediately or chill for later.

Nutrition Per Serving

  • 141 calories
  • 12 grams of fat
  • 2 grams of protein
  • 9 grams of carbs
  • 6 grams of fiber
  • 3 grams of net carbs

Bottom Line

It takes less than ten minutes to whip up this recipe for keto guacamole, but it’s 100 times better than almost every store-bought variety. Made from all-natural ingredients, this guac is loaded with healthy fats and oils, vitamins, minerals, and fiber and is free from sugar and other unwanted additives.

This means it won’t last more than a few days, even when refrigerated, but it tastes so good that this probably won’t be a problem!

Enjoy keto guacamole as an appetizer or as a snack. You could even have it for breakfast if you don’t mind having garlic breath! Whenever you eat it, you are sure to love the authentic Mexican taste.

Serves: 10 Servings (4 avocados)
