Keto is a low-carb weight loss diet. Most keto diets involve eating no more than 50 grams of carbs per day.

This means things like cookies, cakes, and desserts are mostly off-limits. Why mostly? Because there are always ways to enjoy sweet treats on keto without derailing your diet.

Take this keto crème Brulee, for example. Easy to make and with just four ingredients, it contains just under seven grams of carbs per serving, so you can safely enjoy it as part of your ketogenic diet.

Crème Brulee is basically baked custard, and it’s normally topped with caramelized sugar. This version is a little different, but no less creamy, sweet, or indulgent. Make it; you’re going to love it!

Keto Crème Brulee

Ingredients for Four Servings

  • Creme Brulee ingredients4 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 5 tablespoons granulated sugar-free sweetener

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 355 degrees Fahrenheit/165 degrees centigrade.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the vanilla extract.
  3. In a pan set on a medium heat, heat and whisk the cream until it starts to simmer.
  4. Slowly pour the egg mixture into the cream, stirring the whole time.
  5. Divide the mixture between four oven-proof ramekins and then place them in a baking tray filled with boiling water. The water should come up to about an inch below the top of the ramekins.
  6. Carefully put the baking tray in the oven and cook for 30 minutes or until the custard sets.
  7. Remove each ramekin from the water bath and sprinkle with one tablespoon of sugar substitute. Melt using a culinary blow torch and serve.

  • 466 calories
  • 48.4 grams of fat
  • 5.1 grams of protein
  • 6.9 grams of carbs
  • 0 grams of fiber
  • 6.9 grams of net carbs

Bottom Line

Some keto dieters don’t have a problem giving up carbs.

They’re happy filling up with protein and fat and don’t miss things like bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, cereals, or sweets. However, such people are very much in the minority!
