BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato) is usually a type of sandwich. Of course, on keto, sandwiches are off-limits because bread is high in carbs. Just one slice of bread would derail your diet and kick you out of ketosis.

In this recipe, you’ll be making a BLAT salad instead of a sandwich. That way, you can enjoy all the flavors of BLAT but none of the carbs.

Quick and easy to make, this isn’t some boring, tasteless salad. In fact, after your first mouthful, you’ll probably forget that you are eating something designed to help you lose weight.

Keto BLAT (Bacon Lettuce Avocado Tomato) Salad

Ingredients For Four Servings

  • bacon, tomatoes letuce salad1 pound romaine lettuce, roughly chopped
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 ripe avocado, peeled and sliced
  • 6 ounces cherry tomatoes, washed and halved
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Ground Pepper to taste
  • ½ cup garlic aioli

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the lettuce and then put it in a large salad bowl.
  2. Add the bacon, avocado, and cherry tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Stir gently to combine the ingredients.
  4. Drizzle with the garlic aioli and then serve.

Nutrition per Serving

  • 501 calories
  • 47 grams of fat
  • 10 grams of protein
  • 11 grams of carbs
  • 6 grams of fiber
  • 5 grams of net carbs

Bottom Line

Most diets involve eating salads. After all, salad greens are invariably low in carbs and calories. But even though eating salads can help you lose weight, they are often boring.

This recipe for keto BLAT is much tastier than the average salad, and this recipe takes just minutes to put together. You can also add extra protein by serving it with chicken or hardboiled eggs.

Top with creamy keto Caesar salad dressing instead of aioli to make it even tastier.

So, while BLAT sandwiches are off the menu on keto, you can still enjoy bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomatoes. But it’ll have to be in the form of a salad, and not between slices of fattening bread.
