Ignite Keto is an exogenous ketone drink mix made by the company Keto Function. It comes in a 16-serving tub and is citrus splash flavored. Each 15-gram serving contains 27 calories and 12 grams of BHB exogenous ketones. It is sweetened with stevia and designed to be used in conjunction with a low-carb ketogenic diet. It does not contain any medium-chain triglycerides or other keto-friendly ingredients, making this is a very pure keto supplement.

How does it work?

The ketogenic diet is a low carb, moderate protein and high-fat diet. By all-but eliminating carbs from your diet, keto forces your body to burn more fat for fuel. As diets go, the fat-burning effects of keto are hard to beat.

However, low-carb dieting can also lead to some unwanted side effects. It takes time for your body to make the transition from using carbs for fuel to using fat and ketones. During that time, you may feel unwell and suffer symptoms that dieters often call the keto flu.

Exogenous ketone drinks and supplements such as Ignite Keto provide your body with extra ketones which will have several effects and benefits, including:

  • Faster weight loss
  • Fewer unpleasant keto flu side effects
  • Increased mental and physical energy and stamina
  • Fewer cravings
  • A more comfortable and effective keto dieting experience

On the keto diet, as a general rule, the faster your body starts producing ketones, and the more ketones it makes, the more successful your diet will be. More ketones mean a quicker descent into and a deeper state of ketosis, which will have a profound effect on your energy and rate of weight loss.

What are the Ingredients?

Ignite Keto contains a very high concentration of exogenous ketones. In fact, exogenous ketones make up the bulk of this product’s weight. That’s good news because it’s these exogenous ketones that will help you with your ketogenic diet.

The ingredients of Ignite Keto are:

  • Calcium Beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB)
  • Sodium Beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB)
  • Magnesium Beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB)
  • Citric acid
  • Malic acid
  • Natural flavors
  • Stevia

The first three ingredients listed, the BHBs, are the active ingredients in Ignite Keto. They are the exogenous ketones that are so beneficial on the ketogenic diet. Exogenous means from external sources and BHB ketones are the same ketones your body produces when carbs are in short supply. Because of this, your body recognizes BHB ketones and happily uses them for a host of functions, including for energy.

Ignite Keto contains three different exogenous ketones, derived from three different minerals. There isn’t much difference between calcium, sodium, and magnesium BHB ketones, other than they digest at differing rates. This means this product will give you short, medium, and long-term energy.

While there are other ingredients in this product, they don’t affect ketosis or fat burning. Malic and citric acid are natural preservatives and acidity regulators, while stevia is a plant-based, sugar and calorie-free sweetener. It does not affect your blood glucose and won’t disrupt ketosis like sugar would.

How to use it properly

Ignite Keto is very easy to use. Simply add 15 grams to 12-16 oz. of water using the scoop provided. Stir until the powder dissolves, and then consume. According to the manufacturer, you can also mix this product with sparkling water and lime, warm water and apple cider vinegar, or zero-calorie soda or sugar-free iced tea.

You can take Ignite Keto any time, but it’s especially useful:

  • On waking
  • 30-minutes before exercise
  • During exercise
  • As a very low-calorie meal replacement or in place of high-sugar soda
  • Any time you need an energy boost but don’t want to consume calories or caffeine

You should only need 1-2 servings per day. You may also want to use smaller doses at first to prevent any unwanted side effects. Even half a dose, six grams, will help get you into ketosis faster and speed up fat burning while boosting your energy levels.

Benefits of Ignite Keto

Exogenous ketone products like Ignite Keto is designed to be used alongside the low-carb ketogenic diet. In fact, if you aren’t on keto, it probably won’t do much for you. The benefits of using Ignite Keto include:

Faster descent into ketosis – when you cut carbs from your diet, your body has no choice but to use more fat for fuel. However, fats alone are not a good source of energy, so your body turns some fat into something it can use more easily; ketones.

It takes anywhere from a few days to two weeks for your body to make the switch from using carbs for fuel to ketones, a state called ketosis. Consuming exogenous ketones tricks your body into producing ketones sooner and in larger amounts. This gets you into ketosis faster. This has several benefits:

Increased fat burning – the faster you get into ketosis, the sooner you’ll start burning fat at an accelerated rate. Taking exogenous ketones will help get you into ketosis more quickly, which should lead to faster weight loss.

Shorter, less severe keto flu – the descent into ketosis is usually accompanied by side effects that include nausea, cramps, headaches, insomnia, and stomach upsets. Keto dieters call this keto flu, although it’s not dangerous or contagious. Ignite Keto may help reduce the duration and severity of keto flu.

Increased physical energy – in place of carbs, your body needs an alternative source of fast-acting energy. Ketones are a high energy substance that your body can use in place of carbs. Despite being very low in calories, your body can use ketones for energy during exercise. As an added benefit, exogenous ketones provide a stable source of energy and, unlike carbs, won’t cause a peak followed by a crash.

Increased concentration and focus – ketones can pass from your blood directly into your brain. Usually, your brain uses glucose for energy but, with no carbs in your diet, it needs an alternative source of fuel. Taking exogenous ketones like Ignite Keto provides your brain with the energy it requires to function at its best and should enhance concentration and focus, and also ward off fatigue. Unlike carbs and sugar, exogenous ketones won’t make you hyper or leave you with an energy crash.

Side effects and drawbacks

Ignite Keto is a safe, natural product. However, it may still cause some side effects. Potential issues include stomach upsets and headaches, both of which are directly attributable to BHB salts. In most cases, these problems can be avoided by using less than the recommended 15-gram dose and increasing your intake gradually over several weeks.

The other issue some people have with Ignite Keto is the taste. BHB salts have a strong flavor that even the best exogenous keto drinks may struggle to mask. While Ignite Keto is one of the better tasting exogenous ketone products currently available, it still has a taste that some people cannot get on with. Mixing it with sugar-free soda or iced tea may make it more tolerable. That said, some users have reported that they really like the taste, so you might too!

Bottom Line

Ignite Keto is a very high concentration exogenous ketone drink mix. It’s easy to use and tastes pretty good too – although its flavor is an acquired taste for some users! Providing an impressive 12 grams of BHB ketones per serving, this low-calorie keto diet supplement will help you get into ketosis faster, and also put you into a deeper state of ketosis. This will not only give you energy, but it will also reduce the duration and severity of any keto flu symptoms you might experience and speed up weight loss too.

The main drawback of this product is that it only comes in a 16-serving container. This means that if you have two servings per day, you’ll need a new tub in a little over a week. That could make this product expensive and inconvenient for some users.

With all that being said the reviews show that a lot of people are not completely satisfied with this product. As such we recommend the more popular and arguably better product Perfect Keto.

If you are looking for that boost to getting to ketosis faster and smoother we highly recommend checking out our review of Perfect Keto.
